02.01.10High school students steal passwords, change grades
High school students in Montgomery County, MD have hacked into their school's grading system to change their own grades and those of other students in their classes. According to the Washington Post, the students used a USB device to track keystrokes and steal administrator passwords to the grading system. Even if passwords are stolen, a strong two-factor authentication system can prevent hacking like this. By sending "out-of-band" second factor passwords to a cell phone or office phone, Anakam's Two-Factor Authentication blocks the hackers, and also alerts the actual user that someone is attempting to get into their account.
