On November 19, 2009, Brent Williams, Anakam’s CTO, was invited to address the HIT Standards Committee Privacy and Policy Workgroup on the “Building Trust” panel.  The testimony discussed how identity verification plays a role in establishing trust within the electronic healthcare community. While a username and password or proximity badge can gain one access to a server, this does not provide a comprehensive view of identity for that user or the enterprise — instead, identity verification manages the risk of granting access to sensitive information and the process of establishing non-repudiation.
